Io, Io, Io!
Improvement vs. innovation
2011-06-17 20:49:19 When you say that this (Link) is a ripoff of this (Link) just because you've seen this (Link). But you probably need to be a bit older to figure out that this (Link) is just an improvement of this (Link).
More precisely a mix between this (Link), this (Link), this (Link), this (Link), and, hopefully, part of this (Link).
If you can't get older, you can use this (Link) as your reference.
Obviously this (Link) is just a ripoff of this (Link) but I think that you'll find the improved version way more fun.
Since this (Link) is, for me, its best improved version, I can assure that improvements are important as much as innovations and their success is still unpredictable.
PS: Okay. You're not a gamer. For you, just think how much the improvements of this (Link) is changing the web. And exists since 1995.

2011-05-23 21:13:56 Hi all! I really love PotHix? Hell yeah.
Willian Molinari talked about HTML5/Javascript gamedev in his speech the last saturday in São José (Link) and talked about Akihabara (Link) too.
As he announced on his blog (Link), we can watch a video of him on Vimeo, so it did happened (Link). It is in Brazilian but I've clearly distinguished the Akihabara word and a number of slides about that, so have fun!
BTW he is working hard on the new Akihabara repo, that features cool modularization of everything at different degrees. Which is pretty neat, since makes Akihabara... well... more human friendly. You can peep his work here (Link).
Want to have a look to the slides? Here here, slides! Here! (Link)

2011-04-29 20:22:25 Long time no see! I'm in a hurry but I've just have to post these two very much interesting links about Akihabara (Link), both from Zachary "zachstronaut" Johnson (Link), ASAP.
The first one is a very nice video about character stances in 2D platformers and shows live Akihabara patching and improvements.(Link)
The second one is... the 0.2 version of the game shown in the video, that is Commander Clone, a short run'n'gun featuring creative pretty sprites, huge scores and... well. No spoilers. (Link)

Want to know more? Just have a look to the whole Akihabara forum! (Link)
