Aw. Quiz.

You could call someone quiz 1781 to describe an odd guy and then, without any reason and about 100 years later, quiz was a game to test knowledge in the United States.

The Oxford English Dictionary traces the etymology of quiz to the word quiesed that means to ask from a reference from 1843 and a myth says that Richard Daly introduced this nonsensical word in the language in a day just for a bet 50 years before.

A quiz can be simultaneously fair and efficient and totally inaccurate. It can precisely predict and analyze but in a poor way. It can improve performances and make you culturally or socioeconomically standardized.

Quizzes have humble and obscure origins, high accessibility and filled with controversy. That's why, after 200 years, the game of quizzes is still alive and kicking, not unlike the others immortal controversial videogames.
